Kochi: Former Congress leader PC George, MLA from Punjar in Kerala, said 47 girls have been victims of love jihad in his assembly constituency alone. He says it is not known how the girls were converted to Islam and then where they were taken. He also said that he is not blaming any religion for love jihad but extremists are still present in the country.
He said he has been looking at the issue very closely for some time now and most of the cases were in Eratupeta. George said 12 of the victims are Hindus and 35 are Christians. He also said that he is not going ahead with any complaint or approaching the court as most of these girls' families are on the verge of suicide. He also said that he is convinced that love jihad still exists in society. George said the girl, Named Jesna, who went missing on her way to her aunt's house in 2018, is a victim of love jihad.
In the recent past, Pc George not only acknowledged the reality of 'love jihad' in the state but also said that India should now be declared a 'Hindu Rashtra'. He claimed that all Muslims in the country are working together to make India an Islamic country. Concrete steps need to be taken to prevent this.
