Seattle: On Saturday, a 4-year-old boy shot his pregnant mother with a loaded gun, he found under a mattress. The incident took place in Washington state. The woman, who was shot in the face, was immediatley rushed to a hospital.

While on Sunday She was admitted to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials informed that  the woman was transferred to another hospital in improved condition. The toddler found the unsecured gun between the mattress and box spring when his father and mother were watching television. Abbott added that the child shot his eight-month pregnant mother accidently. He also informed that the boy’s father borrowed the gun for protection and that it was unregistered.

Officials added that “We’re reminding anybody with a gun, kids see them as toys,” AP quoted Abbott as saying. “The biggest tragic lesson here is please lock-up your guns so they can’t be used accidentally for the wrong reason.” It is to be noted that, as per the new Washington state law, gun owners can face criminal charges for not storing a gun safely. The investgation into the matter is undergoing.

In a similar incident, a pregnant woman was shot by her 3-year-old daughter outside a thrift store in Merrillville, Indiana last year. The toddler accidentally shot her mother after finding a loaded handgun of her father inside their car.
