Central govt's big decision to provide financial assistance to families of journalists who lost their lives

New Delhi: The entire country is suffering due to the corona epidemic. The Central government informed the Rajya Sabha on Monday. In a written reply, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told the Upper House that the government has launched a special drive to provide financial assistance to the families of journalists who died due to corona infection.

The Minister said, "The application received by the Press Information Bureau and which fulfills the criteria laid down under the Journalists Welfare Scheme (JWS) administered by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. Based on that, in 101 families of journalists who died of coronavirus, 5 lakh rupees each was sanctioned for financial assistance of Rs. 5.05 crore in 2020 and 2021.''

On the other hand, it has been clarified by the Central Government on the proposal regarding loan waiver of the donors that no proposal regarding loan waiver of the donors has come to them or is under consideration. This news has been given by the Central Government as a reply to a written question in the Lok Sabha. It has also been asked by the Government as to what schemes it has launched to help the farmers. The Government has informed that there is no proposal under consideration to waive off the loans of farmers including SC and ST donors.
