Bangalore: Five students have died in a government hostel in Karnataka due to a current. The chief minister of the state, Mr Yeddyurappa has ordered an inquiry into the incident. He also announced compensation to the families of the deceased students. The incident took place when a student was trying to remove the flag post on the roof of the building. Then he touched an electric wire passing over him.

Police rushed the students to a nearby hospital as soon as the incident was reported. he was pronounced dead by the doctors. Now, the state CM BS Yeddyurappa has ordered an inquiry. He also announced compensation to the families of the deceased students. According to information, the incident took place at Devraj Urs BCM Student Hostel, which is run in a private building at Koppla in the state. The incident took place when a student was trying to remove the flag post on the roof of the building. Then he touched an electric wire passing over him. Hearing his screams, four more students rushed there. In an attempt to save him, he was also struck by the current and five died. All the dead students are reported to be between class 8 and class 10.
