The same created a ruckus between the farmers and the police who were opposing the occupation of UPCida on the 1144 acres of land acquired by UPCIDA (Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority) for Transganga City. Police lathi-charged the stone-pelting done by the farmers. The farmers also released hundreds of their cattle towards the officers and police.

In the year 2002-03, 1144 acres of land was acquired for Transganga City in Kanhavapur village of Gangaghat police station area of Sadar tehsil. The land registry has also been done, but the farmers are demanding compensation as per the current circle rate or return the land, saying the compensation is low. According to the plan, UPCEDA wanted to occupy the land on Saturday.
