Lucknow: In Saharanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, the forest department has found more than 50 lakh elephant jaws in the forests of Shivalik. After which this matter has been in the headlines in the area. The forest department got this success during the survey. Scientists at the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology Dehradun say that this fossil Stegodon species is the jaw of the elephant and it is more than 5 million years old.

According to the ANI, the Shivalik Forest Division of Saharanpur under Saharanpur district is spread over 33229 hectares. The forest department has found this elephant's jaw on the banks of Datha Saut of Badshahi Bagh in Saharanpur. It is worth mentioning that Shivalik Forest Division under Saharanpur district is a forest area of Saharanpur in which the work of counting of wildlife is going on for the last 6 months. Due to this, the Forest Department is doing special survey work in this area. In the camera trap for the first time, it has also been confirmed that more than 50 leopards are found in Shivalik.

Giving information about the Chief Conservator of Forests of Saharanpur, Virendra Kumar Jain said that we have received the jaw of this 50 lakh year old elephant during a special survey. Whose survey has been done by the Wadia Institute. He told that this jaw belongs to the ancestors of elephants which are almost 50 lakh years old. At that time his teeth were 12 to 18 feet long and at that time hippopotamus, horse were contemporary. Which has no value, it is priceless.
