5 pilgrims drown in Dehra,as two rescued

Today;Five youths from Punjab drowned whereas taking bath in a distended stream near Dehra in Kangra district.

The pilgrims, calling from Rihan Kalan in Hoshiarpur, were recurring after paying curtsy at Jawalamukhi temple.

Sanjeev Gandhi,the Kangra SP said, “They went deep into Nakaid Khud for taking bath, ignoring the warning board, and were swept away by the gushing waters”

Two among seven pilgrims, together with 14-year-old Arash Deep, were liberated by the locals although the bodies of five were fished out with help of confined people and sent for post mortem to Dehra hospital.

As per the police added, “The local people asked the pilgrims not to venture into the water but they ignored the warning. A local fisherman Sunil Kumar and others saved two of the drowning pilgrims”
