Lucknow: In Uttar Pradesh, 4 officials of Water Corporation have been suspended in connection with the death of 5 sanitation workers during sewer cleaning in Ghaziabad district. This action has been taken when prima facie negligence comes to light. Krishna Mohan Yadav GM, Ravindra Singh XEN, Praveen Kumar AE, and Ajmat Ali JE have been suspended with immediate effect. The contractor has also issued an order to blacklist the firm by filing an FIR.

As per the information received, the case is reported to be in Nandigram area of Ghaziabad adjoining Delhi. In fact, after landing in the sewer, the scavengers suffocated and their health began to deteriorate, and all were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Doctors at the hospital declared three sanitation workers dead while two others succumbed to their injuries during treatment.

As per the information received, the pipeline of Sewer and Water Corporation at Krishnakunj is in progress. Two sanitation workers had landed in the sewer for cleaning. When the two didn't come back for long, two others landed in the sewer to see them, followed by another employee landing in the sewer. Three employees succumbed to their injuries on the spot while two others succumbed to their injuries while undergoing treatment in the hospital.
