Srinagar: Five militants have been killed in three separate operations that lasted throughout the night in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. Police said that two terrorists of Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were killed during an encounter in the Chewakalan area of Pulwama. One of them has been identified as Pakistani Jaish commander Kamal Bhai, who was active since 2018.
Security forces killed two terrorists in an encounter in Ganderbal in Jammu and Kashmir. One of the terrorists killed was a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terror outfit. The identity of the other terrorist is yet to be ascertained. The encounter took place in the Serch area of Ganderbal. The search operation is still underway. In Handwara, one LeT terrorist has been killed in an encounter at Nechama in the Rajwar area. The Kashmir Zone Police tweeted from its official Twitter handle, "The encounter has started in Nechama, Rajwar area of Handwara. Police and security forces are at work. Further information is awaited. "
Inspector-General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said that security forces carried out joint operations at four to five places on Friday night in which two Jaish terrorists and two LeT militants were killed. Security forces have also arrested one terrorist alive. Encounters in Handwara and Pulwama are over. One more terrorist has been killed in Ganderbal.
