Congress senior OBC leader Kunwarji Bawlia took over the BJP's favour on Tuesday. He has become the cabinet minister in the government led by Vijay Rupani in Gujarat. Bawlia has conveyed the reason for leaving Congress party to Rahul Gandhi while Congress President Rahul Gandhi has been accused of 'doing caste politics in the party'. Before the Lok Sabha elections next year, it is considered to be a major setback for the Congress.

Gujarat BJP President Jitu Vaghani welcomed Bawlia in his team. Governor OP Kohli administered his oath of office and secrecy. Bawlia resigned from the Congress in a hurried event in a few hours and BJP went to the office and joined the party. In Gandhinagar, he took oath as a minister in the Raj Bhavan. Congress sources told that an email sent to Rahul Gandhi informed about resignation and Bawlia expressed unhappiness over the party's performance in the state.

In the conversation with reporters, he alleged that Rahul Gandhi was promoting caste politics within party organization. The popular leader of the Koli community, who came to OBC from Saurashtra, went to Gujarat's BJP headquarters after resigning from the Bawlia party and resigning from the legislative post. Bawlia, who was four times MLA, was presently MLA and he submitted his resignation to the post of Governor of Gujarat Assembly by Rajendra Trivedi.

Bawlia's popular leader Koli community's resignation is being considered as a major setback for the Congress before the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 2019. Bawlia says that while living in Congress, he was not able to fulfil the aspirations of the people.

He said, "Because of constant conflict in the party, I was unable to work in the Congress while working in the Congress as I wanted to do. This (BJP) government is moving forward with a mission, and I will be able to fulfil the aspirations of the people, rural areas, the poor and the farmers. The way Rahulji is doing caste politics, I realized that I will not be able to work in the Congress anymore."

While praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bawlia said, "In the past, the then Chief Minister and now Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been very closely linked to me. He used to tell me that we need people like you."

He said," I am constantly watching how our Prime Minister is working. I support the direction given to the country's economy. ' Bawlia said, Narendra Bhai and Amit Bhai (BJP President Amit Shah) are taking the country on the path of progress.
