Lucknow: The news of conversion between prayers has come to light inside the church located in Chuna Wali Gali of Hariharganj locality of Fatehpur city of Uttar Pradesh. On receiving the news of the matter, Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) activists reached the spot in large numbers and locked the gate outside the church. After this the police was informed. In this case, 26 people have been arrested by the police.

According to the information, on Thursday (14 April 2022), a prayer meeting was going on inside the church late in the evening. At the same time, VHP and Bajrang Dal workers reached the spot on the information of the people of the locality. These activists said that a conspiracy is being hatched to convert poor Hindu families by offering them money. When the priest of the church was asked, he admitted that there were more than 70 people inside the church, of which more than 50 were Hindus. This was informed to the police-administration and they were requested to check the IDs of all the people who were offering prayer meetings inside the church, only after that they should be taken out. If the allegation of conversion is true, then a case should be registered.

On getting information about the matter, the police officers reached and pacified the people who were creating ruckus and assured action. Midnight ADM Vinay Kumar Pathak reached the spot and took out the people present inside the church and took them to the police station. Among them were women and children in large numbers. People have accused the missionaries of the church of converting in the past. This is the fifth time that attempts were being made to convert people in the name of the healing assembly. This prayer was going on for the last 36 days.
