Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot presented the state's 2022-23 budget (Rajasthan Budget 2022) in the assembly on February 23, after which the budget announcements have been discussed across the country. In fact, the Gehlot government has made many announcements in the budget to give relief to the people, in which free electricity in Rajasthan is important. According to the budget, up to 50 units of free electricity will now be given for domestic use in the state.

The benefits of this announcement made in CM Gehlot's budget speech will start from the month of April. After this announcement, 1.18 crore domestic consumers of the state will get a discount on electricity bills from Rs 175 to Rs 750. In such a situation, it is also being said that some consumers will also have to pay surcharges like urban cess and electricity duty. Now we are going to tell you how much free electricity will you get and after how many units will you have to pay a surcharge according to each unit?

After cm Gehlot's budget announcement, the electricity bill will not be zero and the bill will be added with fixed charges, electricity duty and urban cess. The fixed charge on the electricity connection is 100 to 400 rupees per month. Apart from this, under the urban cess in the bill, 15 paise per unit will be charged from the urban consumer and 40 paise per unit from all consumers under electricity duty.

After CM Gehlot's announcement of giving 50 units of electricity free in the budget speech, the power distribution companies will also be burdened with the financial burden. Domestic consumers will now get subsidies of up to Rs 175 and Rs 750 in electricity bills. At the same time, it also includes consumers using more than 300 units.
