500 electric-powered e-rickshaws were launched by Delhi Metro Corporation. These e-rickshaws, launched in partnership with Treasure Vas Ventures, have been sponsored by HUDA City Center Metro Station in Gururgram.
100 E-Rickshaw have been placed outside of Gurugram's five Metro Stations under Smart e-brand. According to the reports, by the end of this year, additional 500 e-rickshaws will be sponsored for the convenience of riders on 14 metro station of Gururgram and Faridabad.
This e-rickshaw is completely covered with the full-length windscreen. These e-rickshaw passengers will help in determining the distance of 3-4 kilometers around the metro. For the first 2 km, it will be rented for Rs.10, whereas with an increase of distance, the amount will increase by 5 rupees.
In future, this payment will also be done using Metro Smart Card. This e-rickshaw built in India is equipped with GPS and tracking system. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, while flagging the e-rickshaw, said that these e-rickshaws will not only work to reduce cost-cutting and pollution but will also provide employment opportunities to hundreds of people.
In the coming days, NTPC is going to make the first charging complex in Delhi and Noida only. There have already been 25 charging stations installed in Bangalore
