New Delhi: The new traffic law was implemented in the country on 1 September. In which provision of heavy penalty has been made. There has been a debate on whether this is rational or not. But the number of people who lost their lives in road accidents makes this rule rational. In spite of all kinds of awareness campaigns and strictness in the country, the number of people dying in road accidents is increasing every year. In the year 2008, where the daily death toll was around 300, it has now increased to 500.

The number of vehicles increasing day by day is also responsible for these accidents so far. Another major reason is wrong driving and over speeding. Due to which accidents take place. It is also clear from the data released by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways that the number of people who lost their lives in road accidents is not decreasing in any way. The government is running awareness campaigns but the results are not visible.

The drivers are over speeding bypassing all the rules and are victims of an accident. If you look at the statistics of the government, even after a decade, there has been no decrease in road accidents so far. In 2008, where the number of deaths in road accidents was 1.20 lakh, it increased to 1.49 lakh in the year 2018. The ministry is widening roads and building expressways for better modes of transport. The speed limit of vehicles is fixed on them, but after the young man reaches these paths, the rules are seen to be broken by the laws. According to statistics, more accidents occur at night due to fog. In major cities, more road accidents occur due to rash driving.
