A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit southeast of the Loyalty Islands at 22:54:34 GMT on Sunday.
The US Geological Survey said that the epicentre, with a depth of 10.0 km, was initially determined to be at 23.2846 degrees south latitude and 171.4547 degrees east longitude.
Earlier last week, a 7.5 magnitude earthquake jolted southeast of the Loyalty Islands in the South Pacific. New Zealand’s National Emergency Management Agency had said that quake’s epicentre was 401 km east of Tadine in New Caledonia, and its depth was 2 km.
