53-year-old Air India air hostess falls off aircraft flight AI 864, hospitalised

A 53-year-old Air India air hostess was badly hurt after she fell from an Air India aircraft while attempting to close the door of a New Delhi-bound flight Monday morning at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), as airport sources and the leading news agency ANI reported.

“An Air hostess fell off a Mumbai-Delhi flight this morning. She has been admitted to Mumbai's Nanavati hospital”, ANI tweeted.

The name of Air hostess is Harsha Lobo. She was taken to Nanavati hospital and is said to have fractured her leg. More details are awaited.

So far there has been no comment from Air India authority on how exactly Lobo fell off the plane.

The harsh incident took place when the flight AI 864, a Boeing 777-337 aircraft was being readied for its scheduled departure around 7 am on this morning. The flight is ultimately left after a 90-minute delay at 8:30 am.

Meanwhile According to an airline source, the Air India flight AI 864 was getting ready for the runway. And the woman crew member was closing the door for the pushback when she fell from the aircraft, the source said to The Times now.
