Jammu: A major road accident occurred in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. So far 38 passengers have lost their lives in the horrific accident. Let us tell you that 17 passengers are said to be injured in the accident. The condition of many of these passengers is still critical. Four injured were also airlifted to GMC Jammu. There was chaos at the spot. The death toll may increase.

Now reports say that this tragic accident happened around 12 noon on Wednesday in Trangal of Baggar area of Doda district. Here a bus went out of control and fell into a ditch about 300 feet deep. The bus which met with the accident was going from Kishtwar towards Jammu.

As soon as information about the accident was received, nearby people reached the spot. Also informed the police. The injured have been taken to GMC Doda for treatment. The condition of some of them is serious. In such a situation, the death toll is being estimated to be even higher.

Please note that 55 people were traveling in the bus with registration number JK-02 CN-6555. The bus was going from Kishtwar to Jammu. The bus lost control and fell into a 300 feet ditch near Trungal-Assar on the Batot-Kishtwar National Highway.

Initial information also said that this bus was a 42 seater bus, but in which 55 passengers were seated. The bus was overtaking 2 other buses running on the road. All three buses were in a hurry to overtake. Meanwhile, the bus went out of control and fell into the ditch and a major accident occurred. A video of the rescue operation after the accident is going viral rapidly.

The bus that has fallen from the ditch is visible. The bus was blown to pieces due to the fall from height. There is a road passing through the place where this horrific accident took place, at the turn of which there is a deep ditch. In such a situation, it is estimated that the driver lost control of the bus at the turn and fell into the ditch.

PM Modi-Lieutenant Governor expressed grief over the accident: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have expressed grief at the painful site. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh also expressed grief over the accident.

Announcement of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured: PM Modi said on Twitter, "The bus accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir is tragic. My condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray I pray that the injured get well as soon as possible," he said while announcing that the next of kin of each deceased would be given an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh and each of the injured would be given Rs 50,000 from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF).

Home Minister Shah expressed grief: Let us tell you that Home Minister Amit Shah said, "Deeply saddened to know about the loss of precious lives due to a tragic bus accident in Doda, Jammu and Kashmir. The local administration is carrying out a rescue operation. My heartfelt condolences to the families." I pray for the speedy recovery of the deceased and injured.

Lieutenant Governor Sinha said - I am very sad: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, "I am extremely saddened by the death of people in a tragic bus accident in Doda. 21 dead identified: Out of 36 people killed in Doda bus accident, 21 people have been identified so far. Doda district administration has also expressed deep sorrow over the accident.
