New Delhi: The second wave of corona epidemic in India has left the common man as well as doctors uncusing. Hundreds of doctors have lost their lives while treating patients after being infected with corona. So far 594 doctors across India have died of corona infection. This has been reported by the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

IMA said 594 doctors have lost their lives during the second wave of corona virus epidemic in the country. IMA shared data on doctors who died, saying that the highest number of 594 doctors who died were in the national capital, Delhi, which became one of the most affected hotspots in India during this phase. After which doctors who died from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Jharkhand have also been reported. According to IMA, these data provide a reliable estimate of the plight of the medical community in India in view of the epidemic.

Data shared by IMA revealed that 107 doctors lost their lives during the second wave in Delhi, while 96 doctors died in Bihar, while 67 in Uttar Pradesh, 43 in Rajasthan and 39 in Jharkhand. However, IMA being a voluntary organization of doctors in India, it is believed that this figure may be even higher. This is because the association holds a record of only 3.5 million of its 3.5 million members out of 12 million doctors.
