National Open Athletics Championships: Kachanar of Jaipur wins bronze medal

RanchiKachnar of Jaipur won bronze medal in the 59th National Open Athletics Championships held in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi. She did this in the women's shotput event on behalf of Indian Railways. He has finished third in the shotput event with a distance of 13.95 meters. Earlier, Kachnar, after performing brilliantly in the 32nd National Junior Athletics Championship, won the gold medal by breaking the national record with a distance of 15.99 meters in the shotput event. Kachnar Chaudhary has also won medals in several national and state-level competitions in the past. Kachnar did his preparation under the direction of coach Mahavir Saini.

Ladli Apurvi Chandela of Jaipur has become the world number one player in the 10-meter air rifle rankings. Chandela is among the five Indian shooters who have achieved the 2020 Olympic quota for the country. Chandela won gold in the ISSF World Cup in February with a world record score of 252.9. Earlier, in the Commonwealth Games, Apoorvi Chandela of Jaipur entered the final by setting a new record. Apoorvi broke the record in the 10-meter air rifle qualifier.
