Kolkata: Mysterious fever continues to spread in various districts of West Bengal. There has still been no decline in fever cases. There have been reports of sick children being admitted and dying, especially in hospitals in North Bengal. Children are being admitted to hospitals regularly after complaining of fever and respiratory problems. Another child lost his life due to the same symptom at North Bengal Medical College Hospital on Tuesday night. In the last 24 hours, 6 children have lost their lives in this hospital.

According to North Bengal Medical College, a child died in the hospital last night. With this two more children died in the hospital yesterday afternoon. The symptoms of these three children were basically the same as the same. All the children were having pneumonia and fever, breathing problems. Two of these children were one and a half months old, while another child was 9 months old. A 19-day-old child also lost his life in the paediatrics department. He was being referred to Jalpaiguri district hospital. Another child died on the way. Doctors had instructed to refer a child from Jalpaiguri. The child succumbed to his injuries on the way to North Bengal Medical College.

The 3-month-old was brought to Jalpaiguri from Phalkata on the same day with fever and breathing problems. Jalpaiguri Sadar Hospital referred him to North Bengal Medical College. After waiting for the government ambulance for about an hour, the child's family had to hire a private ambulance and leave for the hospital, but doctors declared the child dead on arrival at North Bengal Medical College. The family members of the child say that if they got an ambulance a while ago, the child could have survived.
