Dehradun: In Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, a case of the death of 6 people has come to light on Friday after drinking poisonous liquor. Confirming the incident, State Director General of Law and Order Ashok Kumar has told that reports of the condition of many people deteriorating after drinking alcohol started coming in during the day on Friday. The State Excise Department, taking action in this case, has suspended three officers.

The police station along with the Excise Department is also investigating this matter. Regional Inspector Sujat Hasan, Inspector Vigilance Manohar Fartial, Sub Inspector Manoj Bhatt have been suspended in the case. The District Magistrate has ordered the closure of all indigenous liquor contracts in the district. The state government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the entire case.

No arrests have been made so far in this regard. Most of the people who died are said to be from Dehradun and its surrounding areas. On the other hand, outraged citizens surrounded the residence of the local MLA during the day.
