Everything we eat is crucial for our overall health but what is also important is, the things we do after a meal. Many people have bad and unhealthy habits after a meal. And the most difficult thing to do is get out or change this habit. But for good health one needs to follow these and try to avoid doing the following after a meal.

Fruits after meals

Fruits immediately after meals can fill your stomach with gas that can cause stomach ache besides coming in the way of digestion process that is already on. Its advised that fruits be eaten an hour or two after having meals. Improper digestion is the root cause for most illness in human beings.

Walking/ Strolling

Walking soon after eating interferes with the food absorption. Walking after 10-20 minutes of your meal is good for your health and helps to burn energy.

Sleeping

Do not sleep immediately after you eat. Sleeping immediately after eating causes indigestion and leads to gastric and infections in the intestine.

Smoking Cigarettes

Smoking a cigarette right after your meal is equivalent to smoking 10 cigarettes which increases the risk of cancer. Cigarette also causes lung cancer, emphysema, and many more.

Tea/Coffee

Tea/Coffee contains substances that absorb the essence of your food. Polyphenols and tannins found in tea/coffee inhibits iron absorption by biding the iron foods that lead to iron deficiency or anaemia.

Dancing/Exercising

Moving or dancing too much after a meal makes it tough to absorb the nutrients in the intestine. You could throw up, an upset stomach or puffiness.
