6-year-old Girl sexually assaulted in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar School

A six-year-old girl was sexually assaulted supposedly by an attendant on the location of a private school in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Wednesday.

The accused, a resident of Sangam Vihar who had been hired by the school only 15 days ago, has been arrested. The Delhi government on Thursday ordered a magisterial investigation.

The incident happened just before school closing time inside the restroom where she had gone to allay herself.

The victim’s father told she needs help cleaning up, and the accused, Rakesh, had gone in because the woman helper frequently deputed was not around.

“It was around 1.30 p.m. He touched my daughter wrongly, which caused pain in her private parts. She then started screaming, due to which he frightened and left the toilet. After this she went straight to her classroom but did not make known it to anyone,” said her father.

At home, the girl told her mother that she was in pain and then explained how the injury was mete out.

Her mother without delay took her to the school where the accused was identified and whipped by staff members before the police were informed.

A medical examination afterward conducted at the AIIMS established that the victim girl had been sexually assaulted.

The police filed a case of rape against the accused under Section 6 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO) and Section 383 of the IPC after the victim girl recognized him.
