Ahmedabad: The second phase of polling for the Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022 ended at 5 pm on Monday (December 5). Voting for 93 seats in 14 districts began at 8 am on Monday. According to election commission data, 64.39 percent voter turnout was recorded.

On average, Sabarkantha recorded the highest voter turnout of 70.90 percent, and Ahmedabad had the lowest at 55.21 percent. In the second phase, 833 candidates are in the fray. Like the first phase, the voting percentage in rural areas has been higher than in the cities in the second phase. Pm Narendra Modi's mother Hiraba reached the polling booth in a wheelchair to cast her vote. A voting facility was provided from home for senior citizens above 80 years of age and unwell. Even after this, Hiraba, who has crossed the age of 100, reached the booth herself and voted and gave a message to those who do not go to vote due to laziness.

PM Modi himself cast his vote at a polling booth in the Ranip area of Ahmedabad. When the PM reached Ranip to vote, he was welcomed in a grand manner with drums. At the same time, a woman was standing near the ballot box in the polling booth, so he also waited for his turn to come. After voting, PM Modi came out and showed the ink mark. During this, Modi-Modi slogans started echoing all around.
