Dehradun: Due to the closure of the Char Dham Yatra due to the Corona epidemic, the economy of the state suffered a lot. This year, the Chardham Yatra started on time, so there is a lot of enthusiasm among the people of Sanatan Dharma about it. Due to the Char Dham Yatra which began on May 3, more than 9 lakh devotees have so far reached Baba Kedar, Badrinath Dham, Gangotri and Yamunotri and offered Darshan-Poojan.
With the same number of devotees, the death toll due to natural and other reasons due to Chardham Yatra are also increasing. According to the latest data, 63 devotees have died so far due to the Chardham Yatra. It is being said that the maximum number of cases of death of devotees has been recorded during the Kedarnath Yatra.
As per the information received, 30 out of the total 63 deaths have been reported due to Kedarnath Yatra. 19 devotees have died in Yamunotri, 12 in Badrinath and four in Gangotri. Heart attack is said to be the biggest reason behind the death of pilgrims during the Chardham Yatra. Recently, it was informed by the administration that heart attack has been the reason behind most of the deaths due to Chardham Yatra. Due to heavy rains and landslides, the Kedarnath Yatra was stopped. The devotees who had left for Kedarnath Dham were stopped at Sonprayag and Gaurikund. The weather is clear today. After the weather cleared up, a group of devotees from Sonprayag and Gaurikund were dispatched to Kedarnath Dham. According to reports, about 8,000 devotees have been dispatched to Kedarnath Dham today.
