Trichy: yet again a case of sexually accusing minor come in light when Police arrested a 68-year-old man for sexually assaulting a minor girl in Trichy. The accused, identified as Rethinam based on the complaint by the victim’s parents.

Police registered a case against Rethinam under the sections of Protection of child from Sexual offences Act. on the complaint of Girl’s parent, The three-year-old ’s parents said that Rethinam took their girl to his house and sexually assaulted her. He was booked under section of 376(AB) of POCSO Act which recommends rigorous imprisonment for not less than 20 years to the accused.

 In a similar case, police had arrested a 16-year-old boy for sexually assaulting a minor girl near Colachel in Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu.  The 8-year old girl was living with her grandmother and was studying in Class 3 in a government school near her house. A 16-year-old teenager living in the same area found her alone in her house a few days ago. He sexually assaulted the girl and threatened her to not tell anyone about the incident. However, the girl shared the incident with her grandmother. The elderly lady then approached the Colachel police station and filed a complaint.
