Lucknow: The administration in Shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh has issued orders to attach the property of a usurer on charges of forcing a drug dealer to commit suicide along with his family. District Officer Umesh Pratap Singh has given information in this regard on Wednesday. He has told that drug dealer Akhilesh Gupta allegedly committed suicide along with his wife and two children in 2021. Akhilesh Gupta had also left a suicide note, in which the moneylenders Avinash Bajpai and Sushil Gupta were accused of torturing him. After this the police put the accused in jail.

According to the District Magistrate, Avinash and Sushil form an organized gang and collect money illegally at high interest rates without a license. He told that both the people who take money on interest, torture them physically and mentally and also grab their property. Singh said that both the accused do not have any legitimate source of income and orders have been issued to attach several plots, houses and properties worth about Rs 60 lakh of them for their involvement in anti-social activities.

Let us inform that in June 2021, Akhilesh Gupta, a resident of Kachha Katra locality, took Rs 12 lakh on interest from usurper Avinash Bajpai. It is alleged that Gupta was paying interest of Rs 12 lakh, but the usurer forced him to pay an additional Rs 70 lakh by charging compound interest. Fed up with Akhilesh and his wife Resh, committed suicide along with their two children.
