Indore: CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the previous day that pregnant women will now get the vaccine. Pregnant women started getting vaccine in Indore, Bhopal from friday. For this, 7 Government hospitals have been set up in Indore and centres at Mhow, Manpur, Sanwar, Depalpur and Betma in rural areas. More than 65 women were reportedly vaccinated in the urban area in the first two hours. None of them suffered in any way. At present there are about 70,000 pregnant women in the city who will be vaccinated one day a week.

Now, efforts are being made to get both doses of these pregnant women as soon as possible as they and the children are most at risk from the possible third wave. Vaccination has started at OPD, District Hospital, Civil Hospital, PC Sethi Hospital, Community Health Centre (Banganga), Mangilal Churia Hospital (Ambedkar Nagar) and Nandanagar Maternity Home of MYH from 9 am today i.e. Today, due to heavy rains, women have come in small numbers initially. As per the information received, most of the centres are being run by women staff and the vaccine will be administered by 5 pm. Most importantly, they are being vaccinated. In fact, before the vaccine was administered, women were also counselled on 'vaccine is not a threat to them but a protective shield'.

Under what conditions is the vaccine administered

- Pregnant women are at higher risk of infection than others.

- Women who have covid-19 symptoms should get vaccinated.

- If the pregnant woman has been infected, she should get the vaccine after delivery.

- Pregnant woman should not get vaccine if she has symptoms of allergies or any other risk.
