Dehradun: 750 candidates have filed their nominations for a total of 70 seats in Uttarakhand for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. A total of 144 nominations have been filed in the capital Dehradun area during the total nomination period. In many seats, the same candidate has filed several nominations. Due to this, the figure for total enrolment has increased.

Similarly, the nomination process for Dharampur, Raipur, Rajpur Road, Mussoorie and Cantt areas has been held in the Collectorate premises of Dehradun. District Election Officer Dr R Rajesh Kumar said that a total of 144 nominations have been filed in all five assembly seats. It includes BJP and Congress candidates from all assembly seats.

Along with this, in some seats, there are also candidates who have rebelled against the party's official candidate. After the date of nomination is over, the nomination papers will now be scrutinized. After scrutiny, there will be time till January 31 to withdraw the name. BJP's Vinod Chamoli, Savita Kapoor, Umesh Sharma, Ganesh Joshi, Khajan Das, Rajkumar of Congress, Godavari Thapli, Suryakant Dhasmana, Dinesh Agarwal, Heera Singh Bisht, Naveen Pirshali of AAP, along with Ukrand, BSP and Samajwadi Party candidates are in the fray. A total of 129 nominations were filed in Haridwar district, 57 in Pauri, 27 in Uttarkashi district and 43 in Tehri district. In the Chamoli district, 34 candidates have filed their nominations and in the Rudraprayag district, 27 candidates have filed their nominations. In the Kumaon division, 74 candidates have filed their nominations in the Nainital district, 106 in USNagar, 15 in Champawat district, 24 in Pithoragarh, 55 in Almora and 20 in Bageshwar.
