Thousands of people register online to watch Chandrayaan-2 launch

Chennai: The countdown to Chandrayaan-2, an ambitious project of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), has begun. ISRO Chairman K Sivan said Sunday that the countdown to the launch of Chandrayaan-2 has begun at 6.43 p.m. During this countdown, the rocket and spacecraft system is undergoing testing and being fuelled to power the rocket's engine. Chandrayaan-2 will be launched today (Monday) at 2.43 pm.

On Monday afternoon, 7,500 people have registered online at ISRO to watch the launch of India's rocket Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle ,Mark III (GSLV-MK III) carrying Chandrayaan-2. People from different countries have registered to watch the launch. An official of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) told the press that "a total of 7,500 people have registered online to watch the rocket launch."

ISRO has also recently allowed the general public to watch the launch. A gallery has been created for this. Although the gallery has a capacity of about 10,000 people, ISRO plans to gradually increase this number. It will be a wonderful experience to see the rocket spewing orange fire behind it moving towards the sky, which thousands of people will like to experience.
