New Delhi: Festivals are about to come to the country in the next few weeks. In view of this, the central government gives some gifts to its employees. The government can give them increased salary under the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission. This increased salary can also create additional demand in the market. The employees have been demanding to increase the basic minimum pay for a long time, they demand that the basic pay should be increased from Rs 18 thousand to Rs 26 thousand. Some state governments have also done this on their own.

The State Governments have increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of personnel in view of Shahra and Deepawali. Amid demand for an increase in DA of Central Government employees under Seventh Pay Commission, Himachal Pradesh Government has decided to increase the DA of State Government employees. Himachal government is increasing it by four percent which will come into effect from October 2019.

The implementation of the recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission will benefit about 2.5 lakh employees. After the new increase, they will get DA of 148 percent, compared to 144 percent earlier. It is noteworthy that the Haryana State Electricity Board has also announced a four percent increase in the DA of its employees. The board will also give arrears between January and July. Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Rajasthan have made such declarations earlier.
