Central government employees may get a big good news before Holi. In fact, various reports have revealed that the government may take a decision on Wednesday regarding the increase in dearness allowance (DA hike) of central employees. According to the reports coming out, the government can increase the dearness allowance of central employees by three percent. Yes, and it is being said that if the government announces an increase in DA this month, then this increase will be effective from January 1, 2022. In such a situation, there is a possibility that the central employees will get the increased salary in March along with the arear of January and February.

The central government employees now get a DA of 31 per cent. If the government increases the DA by three per cent as per the recommendations of the 7th Pay Commission, then the dearness allowance to the central employees will be 34 per cent. In order to reduce the impact of inflation, dearness allowance is given to the central government employees. Yes, and as per the recommendation of the Seventh Pay Commission, the government revises the DA twice a year (in January and July). In such a situation, if the government decides on this on Wednesday, then it will benefit 48 lakh central employees and 65 lakh pensioners.

On the other hand, the government gives dearness allowance to its employees and pensioners. And through this, the government's effort is to reduce the impact of rising inflation. The calculation of dearness allowance is done on the basis of basic salary, however, according to different cities, there is a difference in the DA of the employees. Talking about the earlier increase, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the central government had in October last year increased the DA of central employees from 28 per cent to 31 per cent.
