New Delhi: The Government of India is going to give double benefits to central employees. The government has earlier increased the dearness allowance of these employees from 17 percent to 28 percent. This will benefit more than 1 crore employees of the Centre. At the same time, the Government has simplified the process of applying for Child Education Allowance. Now the employees will be able to verify their documents on their own and easily avail this facility of the government. Child Education Allowance is given to central employees so that they can easily provide better education to their children.

The decision has been taken in view of the difficulties being faced due to corona lockdown during the academic year 2020-21. As per the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, central government employees get Rs.2250 per month under CEA. The corona epidemic was causing problems for employees to apply for CEA. For this reason, many employees were asked to make the process easier. The Government has since taken this step.

As per the recommendation of the 7th Pay Commission, the recommended rate for hostel subsidy was Rs.6750. Along with this, it was recommended that whenever DA is increased by 50 percent, CEA and hostel subsidy should also increase by 25 percent. In such a situation, the government has increased the DA by 11 percent. It can be increased further in the coming time. If this happens, the government will also increase the rate of education allowance. This will directly benefit the central employees.
