Pune: An shocking incident occurred when a seven-year-old girl was raped and then murdered in Dapodi in Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune. The accused also committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree.

According to the police, Vijay Yadav who is accused in this case, apparently committed the crime after the girl's mother refused his proposal to marry him. On Tuesday morning the girl's mother had gone to work and her sister had gone to school. While she was alone in the house, accused Yadav entered the house and raped the seven year old. When her mother returned from work, she found the girl unconscious on the ground. While she immediately took her to the hospital, the doctors declared her dead on arrival.

According to primary information provided by the police, the victim's mother and accused worked at the same place. The accused, who belongs to Uttar Pradesh, threatened the woman on Monday night.  Post-incident, while the police was searching for Vijay, a team found Vijay Yadav's body hanging from a tree in a nearby area. The police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
