New Delhi: Covicshield vaccine manufactured by the Serum Institute of India in India will not face problems during their visit to Europe. Seven European Union countries and Switzerland have also included India's covishield vaccine in their 'green pass'. This will enable people to travel to these countries without any restrictions. In fact, in this regard, India had asked the European Union to give concessions from mandatory quarantine to European Union passengers travelling to India only on the basis of reciprocity.

For this, european union countries also need to include Covicshield and Covaxin made in India in green pass which will come into effect from July. Earlier, India had warned the European Union for its reluctance to accept the Indian-made vaccine in its vaccine passport. According to media reports, the Government of India had categorically stated that it would not recognize the EU's Digital Covid Certificate unless the European Union recognized Indian vaccines.

Vaccine nationalism is the first diplomatic step under which the Government of India has made it clear that it will recognize the European Union's digital covid certificate only on mutual grounds. Mutual acceptance simply means that european union vaccine certificates will not be accepted in the country unless it incorporates Indian vaccine Covishield and Covaxine in the digital certificate called 'green pass'. In such a situation, the European Union people travelling to India would have to undergo mandatory quarantine.
