New Delhi: The Supreme Court collegium has given the green signal to eight names sent to the Centre for appointment to the post of Chief Justices of various high courts in the country. Sources said the eight names include Acting Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court Justice Rajesh Bindal, who has been made the Chief Justice of Allahabad high court.

It has also been reported that 5 Chief Justices of various High Courts have also been transferred, with Justice Arup Kumar Goswami as the Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh, while Justice Md. Rafique has been made the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court, Justice Akil Qureshi as the Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, Justice Inderjit Mahante as the Chief Justice of Tripura High Court, and Justice Vishwanath Samaddar as the Chief Justice of Sikkim high court. In addition, 8 new Chief Justices have also been created.

Among the newly appointed Chief Justices, Justice Rajesh Bindal has been made the Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, Justice Prakash Srivastava as the Chief Justice of The Kolkata High Court, Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra as the Andhra Pradesh High Court, Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi as the Karnataka High Court, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma as the Telangana High Court, Justice Ranjit V More as the Meghalaya High Court, Justice Arvind Kumar as the Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Justice RV Malimath as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
