Himachal Pradesh: Passenger bus fall in a ditch 8 traumatized, 10 injured

New Delhi: A bus plunged into a 200-meter deep moat in the remote Churah sub-division of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday morning. 8 people died and at least 10 were injured in this terrible accident. Deputy Commissioner DC Rana said that the accident occurred at 10:15 am at Colony Turn on Bondedi-Teesa Road at Bhanjaru, sub-divisional headquarters, 66 km from Chamba.

In this, six people died on the spot, while two died on the way to the Civil Hospital in Teesa. Rana said that the private bus (HP73A 1316) was carrying 18 passengers who were going from Bondedi to Chamba when the bus accident happened. The injured were rushed to the Medical College and Hospital in Chamba, where the condition of four of them is stated to be critical. He said that the teams of Revenue, Police, Health and Fire Department carried out rescue operations and took out the dead and injured. Efforts are on to locate a missing person.

At the same time, immediate relief of Rs 20,000 has been given to the families of the deceased by the administration and Rs 5,000 has been given to the injured. TISA Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) has ordered to find out the cause of the accident. CM Jai Ram Thakur has expressed grief over the loss of life and property in Teesa accident. He said that the district administration has been directed to provide all possible help to the victims. The injured will be provided free treatment.
