Washington: Rapid-spreading fires in the U.S. West Coast states have caused havoc in Oregon and California. Eight people have lost their lives in the United States so far. With regard to the fire in the California forests, the fire department says they have not seen the fire spreading so fast before. The fire is spreading at a speed of about 24 kilometres per day.

Most damage from the fire has occurred in the Oregon area. The catastrophic fire in the forests of the U.S. Northwest (Pacific Northwest) was spread by strong winds and hundreds of homes in Oregon were burnt to ashes. More than a thousand houses have been burnt down. Authorities say the fire has forced 5 lakh to leave their homes. The governor has warned that forest fires could lead to the biggest loss of life and property in the state's history.

Fire brigade personnel are having trouble in controlling the blaze, as the fire has taken a severe form and spreading at a speed of 80 km per hour in Oregon. People in some areas of West Oregon have been asked to evacuate their homes immediately. Oregon Governor Kate Brown cautioned that Monday's fire can cause huge devastation.
