Visakhapatnam: A 13-year-old minor girl was forced to undergo prostitution for over eight months in Andhra Pradesh. The police rescued her from Guntur on Tuesday, April 19. An investigation revealed that she was gang-raped by more than 80 men in eight months. Police said that on Tuesday, April 19, 10 people, including a student from B.Tech, were arrested. The police are also in the process of arresting 80 people involved in the crime. They are being searched for those who are absconding.

In fact, the victim was adopted by a woman Savarna Kumari, who befriended the victim's mother at a hospital during the corona pandemic in June 2021. The girl's mother died due to corona. After this, the Savarna Kumari came home with the girl. However, this was hidden from the girl's father. In August 2021, the girl's father approached the police and lodged a complaint. Based on this, the police identified the main accused woman Savarna Kumari. The first arrests in the case were made in January. On Tuesday, April 19, Guntur west zone police nabbed 10 more people, including a BTech student. On interrogating the accused and the victim, the police came to know the painful and shocking truth of the victim's condition.

For the past eight months, the 13-year-old girl was sent to different hideaways in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for use in the business of prostitution. Based on this, the police identified the woman who took the girl as the main accused who forcibly pushed the minor into this superpatriot. Additional Superintendent of Police K Supruja said the police have identified 80 accused and started arresting them. Some of them are kingpins, 35 are brokers and the rest are customers. ASP further told "Taking advantage of the girl's age and status, several gangs bought the girl and took her to several places in both the states and rapped her.''

Police are searching for some more absconding accused. ASP Supruja said, "One of the accused in this case is also in London. Police have recovered a car, 53 mobiles, three autos and bikes from the accused in the case. The accused were arrested from Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Kakinada and Nellore.''
