Chennai: In Anna Nagar East, the Chennai city police are searching for a robbery gang who stole 800 grams of gold, money and costly liquor from an industrialist’s house in Anna Nagar area. The victim, 60-year-old Sathiyanarayanan is a resident of 21st Street. Sathiyanarayanan owns a two-wheeler showroom in Perambur area of the city. Last week, he locked his house and went to Andhra Pradesh to participate at a relative's function with his wife. Meanwhile, Kuppamma, who works in their home, went to spray the plants in his house yesterday. She got shocked on seeing the lock of the house broken. She informed the house owner about the incident.
After this, Sathiyanarayanan informed Anna Nagar police about the theft in his house. On the basis of his complaint, police searched the house for clues. It was found that the thieves, who had entered the house, drank expensive foreign alcoholic beverages. Later, they broke the locker in a room and took away 800 grams of gold jewellery, Rs 1 lakh and did not even spare the foreign liquor bottles. They also took away the CCTV camera's hard drive to keep police in the dark.

However, on the same day, a private water purifier equipment office was broken into and Rs 1,50,000 and surveillance cameras were robbed in the same street. Moreover, robbers broke the doors of Murali Krishnan (39), who lives in the same area and looted silver and electronic goods worth Rs 6 lakh. Anna Nagar Police has registered a case and are in search of the robbers.
Three incidents of robbery in the same locality have created panic among the residents of the area.
