NOIDA: Locals in the Panchsheel Green-2 Society in Greater Noida West, adjoining the country's capital Delhi, were in a state of panic over the non-commencement of electricity and water supply to eight towers for the second day on Sunday. Angry people protested on Sunday. Due to lack of electricity, 800 families have left the society and are forced to go to their relatives' homes. The fire in the electric panel of the society has disrupted the power supply to several towers.

Residents of the society have reported that there are 13 towers in the society, in which 1800 families are living. Electricity and water supply have been disrupted due to a fire in an electric panel in the society late on Friday night. Five towers of the society are being provided with electricity from the DG set, while the remaining eight towers have not been electrified for two days. People are upset due to the lack of electricity and water in the summer. In view of the problem of the people, Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar met the builder management and residents on Sunday. He has asked the builder management, NPCL and the authority to solve the problem of the people of the society at the earliest.

In this scorching heat, people are not getting relief from power cuts. There are more power cuts in rural areas as compared to urban areas. In Dadri, Dankaur, Jewar and Rabupura areas of the Dehat area, people are facing cuts for eight to ten hours.
