During the 84th Congress Plenary session on Sunday, the party accused the BJP government of disrupting India’s foreign policy. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said "Lots of tall promises made but they were not fulfilled. They said if BJP comes to power, they will provide 2 crore of jobs, but we have not seen even 2 lakh jobs. Instead problems for created for small-sized businesses and informal sectors,"

Manmohan Singh also added “PM Modi said we will double the farmer's income in 6 years time. If you want to do that, you need a growth rate of 12 per cent oper annum, which is not possible. This is only jumla and tall promises made by PM Modi. India stands at the crossroads. We have opportunities as well as challenges ahead of us. I hope the Congress session will show a new pathway for the future of the country. India needs to create an environment that is neigbour friendly. Congress party worked in that direction”.

On Saturday, Sonia Gandhi launched a scathing attack against the Narendra Modi-led NDA government, calling it “arrogant”. Accusing the saffron party of dividing the nation along the lines of religion and caste, Rahul Gandhi said only his party can unite the country. During the conclave on Saturday, the party also passed two resolutions, one political and the other on agriculture, employment and poverty alleviation.
