The risk of infection with the coronavirus is not yet averted and nine people have committed suicide due to lack of alcohol. Due to this, new trouble has arisen in front of the local government. Now the state government is going to change its existing rules so that liquor can be provided easily.

According to the news agency PTI, many people are unable to get alcohol due to the lockdown. So far, five in Kerala and four in Karnataka have committed suicide due to lack of alcohol. The incidents of suicides amid lockdown have forced the Kerala government to change the rules. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan said that only one death has occurred in the state due to the coronavirus, while five people have died in the lockdown to protect it. The state government has announced that now the Excise Department will provide liquor to those addicted to alcohol. The state government will start online service for providing liquor.
