Visakhapatnam, Police arrested three persons for possessing around 900 grams opium with street value of Rs one lakh. DCP T Ravi Kumar Murthy said, that the three of the accused identified as B Daniel Sunil Kumar 38, A Ramakrishna 39 and P Dhana Raju 49 used to procure opium from interior parts of Odisha and used to sell it in Chennai.
"The trio wanted to sell opium for at least Rs 5 lakh in Chennai but as the buyers were reluctant to pay the amount, they were returning to Vizag to sell the contraband in the city," Murthy added.
According to the officer, police personnel intercepted their vehicle and seized the contraband from their possession and an investigation is on.
