Ahmedabad: The rain is continuing in Gujarat along with the southern states. Flood like situation continues in several parts of the state. In Gujarat, 10 people have lost their lives due to floods and rains in the past 12 hours. So far 98 people have lost their lives due to floods in the state. At about 10 people have lost their lives in two incidents of old house collapse in the past 12 hours due to heavy rains. There have been 4 deaths in Kheda and 4 in Ahmedabad. In Surat district, the mother and her son have been killed due to electric current.

Though it is raining continuously throughout Gujarat, the rain has wreaked havoc in the last 12 hours. All 251 tehsils of Gujarat have received heavy rain. The maximum rainfall has been recorded at Barwala in Botad district where 15 inches of rain has been recorded in the last 12 hours. Gujarat has recorded rainfall ranging from 3 inches to 15 inches. Relief for Gujarat reports that water has been released from Sardar Sarovar Dam on Friday, bringing down the water level slightly.

At 30 people have so far lost their lives in Maharashtra due to heavy rains and floods. In addition, 42 people have died in Kerala. In Karnataka also, the situation is very bad. About 10 people have died here. Other teams including Army, Air Force, Navy, NDRF are engaged in the rescue operation. Millions of people have been evacuated from flood affected areas of the three states.
