Mounganj police station in-charge of Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh, Mahendra Mishra has been sent to judicial custody in connection with the rape of a 15-year-old girl who was brutally raped and harassed. Mishra is 45 years old who bluffed the girl. According to PTI, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shiv Kumar Singh said that the victim informed in the complaint that she was being raped in her house for the past several months. During this, the accused locked the girl's parents in a room and did this hideous act.
The ASP said that on July 27, Mishra had called the girl to Mawanganj to talk about her marriage then he took her to a lodge and raped her. Shiv Kumar told, sub-inspector Mahendra Mishra, in charge of Mounganj police station, was arrested in the night for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.
Mishra was presented in the court of Additional Session Judge Manish Patidar of Mounanganj where he was sent to jail in judicial custody. Mishra is already married. The victims study in the 9th class. Mounanganj is about 60 km away from Rewa district headquarters where this incident took place.
Recently, in the case of rising rape and sexual assault with young girls in the country, the central cabinet has already given green signal to the death penalty. Now boys with less than 12 years of age will be punished for doing wrong or sexual harassment.
On the proposal of the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the Law Ministry has approved the intervention of the Pocso Act to end the gap between the minor and the girl. After approval from the cabinet, the bill will be introduced for this amendment in the Pocso Act in the monsoon session.
