A 70-ft Tall Durga idol Set Back in the Race for World Record

After a massive storm hit in Bishnpur a 110 ft high Durga idol which was made up of bamboo destroyed from the towering height and came down nearly to 70ft. The local residents and artisans of  Bishnpur helped the idol to put back in its place on Wednesday. 

There were many people who helped the organizers, one of the artists named Nuruddin Ahmed earned a hundred kudos from locals to achieve the impossible task of putting the goddess idol back to where she belonged earlier in such a short time. 


More than 70 workers skilled and skilled helped to put idol on the place which was separated nearly 6,000 pieces of different varieties like Bijulee, Mokol, and others. 
The biggest task of the organizers is to give the goddess her 100 ft elevation before the drums start beating ushering in the festival. "We worked 24X7. The support of the people has been overwhelming. This enthusiasm should be sustained for us to help achieve the 100 ft task," said Ahmed.

The organizers over there had also spoken to the authorities of Guinness Book of world records when the goddess was towering at the height of 110ft.up but unfortunately nature had quashed their hopes. However, after the idol was re-erected, they started dreaming again and got in touch with the representatives of Guinness.
"We were almost on the verge of being awarded the status. An inspection team was set to arrive. But now the process could get longer," added Ahmed.
