Man forced wife to drink acid, police registered case of domestic violence

A man along with his parents forced his wife to drink acid. The woman works as a constable working with the Rachkonda cyber crime police. Alwal police registered the case after the lady cop filed the complaint against them on Wednesday.

Her In-laws were demanding additional dowry from her family, despite taking Rs 3 lakh cash and four tolas gold at the time of her marriage.

The three are on a run, police starting searching for them. The lady constable C. Rajini, 30, a resident of Bhudevinagar in Alwal, works with the Rachakonda cyber crime police station in LB Nagar. She had married one Om Prakash, also of Alwal, on November 23, 2017. Her family had given Rs 3 lakh cash and gold ornaments weighing four tolas as dowry at that time.

On July 9 late in the night her in-laws and husband forcibly made her consume a floor cleaning acid with an intent to kill her. 

She somehow managed to escape and got admitted to Rush Hospital in Suchitra circle, Kompally, for treatment.

Alwal inspector V. Srikanth Goud said a case has been registered based on the complaint lodged by Ms Rajini and investigation took up to nab the accused persons.
