A Tollywood sex racket smashed by the US investigation agency

The US  investigation agencies have dropped the curtains off a Tollywood trafficking racket which sold kannad and other actresses from Telugu cinema to be indulged into commercial sex. The touts, fooled the actresses by promising them to provide opportunities in movies. Till date,  5  have been identified as the victims of human trafficking in Chicago for prostitution by a Tollywood production manager couple. Kishan Modugumudi, AKA Sreeraj Chennupati, and Chandrakala Purnima Modugumudi, AKA Vebha Jayam, both are from Hyderabad but were living illegally in the US. The couple was arrested in Washington, on April 28, 2018. a criminal complaint has been filed by the US federal agents of Homeland Security Investigations in the Illinois court.

According to the sources, the couple carried out the crime on May 11, 2017, to January 22, 2018.

They bought airline tickets and booked hotel rooms for the victims and made them stay either at their residence in Chicago or in the hotel rooms. According to reports, the couple used to take them to Telugu and other conferences and present them before the customers, who would then hire them for the commercial intercourse.

The US investigation agency is now looking into various similar suspects, for further discovery.
