Aam Aadmi Party MLAs Amanatullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal on Thursday were sent to 14-days judicial custody in connection with the assault on the Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.

Name of both the MLAs appeared in the FIR lodged by Anshu Prakash on Tuesday alleging them of manhandling the chief secretary. Anshu Prakash also stated that he was attacked in Kejriwal’s presence.

A court had dismissed a plea demanding the same earlier. After being presented at the Tis Hazari court after an arrest, they were sent to Tihar jail on Wednesday. The two lawmakers were arrested and charged for allegedly assaulting the Delhi chief secretary at chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Monday.

The officials of the Delhi Government including DANICS and IAS officers have decided to observe a five-minute silence on all working days during the lunchtime.

The Madhya Pradesh IAS officers association also came out in support of the top bureaucrat and condemned the incident. The association demanded action against the two MLAs.

“The MP IAS Officers Association demands that criminal cases be registered against the persons who have committed the assault and everybody else who was present and guilty of abetment,” stated a resolution passed by the association.

AAP leader claimed that both the MLAs were being targeted because of their background as Jarwal belongs to the dalit community and Khan from Muslim.
